The device provides a pair of insulating elements each having a connecting surface (12). They also have a through-hole (18) of which the axis is directed perpendicularly to the connecting surface. A seat (14,16) in each insulating element is arranged to receive a respective insulated electrical cable (C) directed transversely of the axis of the through-hole. The screw element is arranged to be screwed into the cores (N) of the two cables along the aligned axes of the through-holes, with the connecting surfaces of the two elements in abutting contact.
