ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA frequency-doubler for a laser is disclosed in whicha Type II SHG crystal is oriented to generate a second harmonicfrequency beam in response to the orthogonal components of afundamental beam. After the fundamental beam makes a roundtrip through the SHG crystal, any differential phase delaysbetween the orthogonal components or between the E and O raysof the fundamental beam due to birefringence are eliminated toimprove the efficiency and stability of the cavity.
