A B S T R A C TApparatus for separating agricultural produce from othermaterials comprising a generally cylindrical separation roller; andapparatus for causing an unsorted mixture of agricultural produce andother materials to impinge upon the generally cylindrical separationroller at an impingement location area in a direction which is notnormal to the tangent to the roller surface at the impingementlocation area. Also, apparatus for separating agricultural produce fromother materials comprising a generally cylindrical separation roller;and apparatus for causing an unsorted mixture of agricultural produce andother material to impinge upon the generally cylindrical separationroller at an impingement location area at a generally uniform velocity.
