Abstract of the DisclosureThis invention is a method of purifying3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trialkylammonium chloride. Anaqueous slurry is prepared containing from 70 to 98 weightpercent total solids including the chloride and impuritiesassociated with the preparation thereof. To this slurryis then added a miscible alcohol having from 3 to 4 carbonatoms. A solid filtrate is collected and optionallywashed with additional alcohol and dried. The solidfiltrate is substantially more pure in the chloride thanthe starting material.32,288-F
