USE OF COMPOUNDS OF THE RETULINE SERIES AS COMPOUNDS WITH PHARMACEUTICAL ACTIVITY, IN PARTICULAR ANALGESIC, ANTISPASMODIC AND ANTIINFLAMMATORY MEDICAMENTS

Compounds with pharmaceutical activity having general formula (I), where in position 16, either R1 or R2 is hydrogen, while the substituent R1 or R2 which is not hydrogen is -CH2OH- or acylated, preferably acylated, -CH2OH-, or an aldehyde function; R3 in position 1 is an alkyl or acyl residue, preferably an acetylated residue, R4 in position 18 is an alkyl, preferably methyl, chain, a -CH2OH- group or an acylated, preferably acetylated, -CH2OH- group; R5 is hydrogen or a substituent on the benzene ring which can be hydroxyl or methoxy. Also described are the substituted compounds on the nitrogen in position 4 and the derivatives in which the C19-C20 double bond is hydrogenated. The compounds have an anti-inflammatory analgesic and antispasmodic effect.
