The apparatus comprises a first girder which is fastened to a base plate and on which a second girder is displaceably guided by means of a roller guide. A slide carrying a drilling machine is displaceably guided on the second girder by means of a further roller guide. The drill rod is guided in a supporting plate telescopic relative to the first girder. A compact type of construction in a large range of service height is obtained by this arrangement. The roller guides permit exact proportioning of the axial force on the drill rod. The apparatus is suitable for direct attachment, for example, to a winning machine for underground mining.
