A method for the establishment of cohesion curve of a seabed at great depth, characterized in that it consists of dropping from the surface a machine (1) whose shape is optimized so as to achieve in reaching the bottom a sufficiently high rate of descent to then penetrate a significant thickness of the soil, and to provide this sensor device (modules 3, 4 and 5) transforming different resistances encountered by the machine across the floor into electrical signals which are processed to measurement means (9) electronic and information contained in the device itself, so as to transmit directly to the surface of the information sought on the nature of the soil layers crossings.
