Method for testing the closing of a fuel valve of a fuel-heated device with a burner controlled by the valve, a flame-monitoring device and a further fuel valve. When the fuel-heated device (1) is switched off, the valve (4) to be tested is closed, but the other, on the other hand, is kept open, and after a given time has expired, if the flame signal continues to appear, an alarm signal is given.
