Industrial waste water is treated by creating intensive turbulence in a treatment vat, and adding a reagent which mixes intimately with the water and flocculates residues in it to ppte. them at the base of the vat. A device for carrying out the process is also claimed. The reagent is pref. a synthetic macromolecular organic cpd. and a metal salt. USE - For water from a coach-building workshop.
