By cumulation of the loading effect of the variable load of a pendulum in the horizontal direction and of the variable load of the weight support (hip yoke) movably attached to the pendulum in the vertical direction, a load direction pattern is achieved for the person training which corresponds to that in jumping or sprinting (drawing 6). As a result of the adjustable length of the pendulum and its distance from the floor surface, it is possible to limit the movement of the hip yoke towards the axis of rotation of the pendulum at the height of the hip curve. As a result, training is possible in the same muscular modes of action as with jumping, in sequence eccentric - isometric - concentric, but without the abrupt stresses of jumping for the passive motor apparatus of the person training. The direction of load is adjusted by the tension cable part of the apparatus to the requirements of the running load. As a result of the belt construction on the hip yoke (drawing 3) the load is distributed over shoulders and hips and thus permits greater stresses with simultaneous reduction of load on the spinal column in comparison with conventional training media such as dumb-bell training, etc..
