The invention relates to a diamond bandsaw blade and a manufacturing method in which a 0.45 mm thick steel saw blade 20 mm wide at the teeth is provided with segments at the teeth by means of silver solder and inductive brazing. The segments are chipped off from a strip-shaped blank, which is 10 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick and consists of metal sintered at about 760@C and embedded diamond grains, as pieces of 5 mm length between two wedge-shaped cutting edges directed towards one another, these segments being placed in an abutting position against the teeth with one of the breaking edges thus created and being hard brazed in a centred position relative to the centre of the thickness of the steel saw blade so that the respective second breaking edge serves as a cutting edge, while the saw blade is alternatively formed with a tooth spacing of 20 or 28 mm.
