This geometrical reduction in the decalage with simultaneous influencing of the profile in the trailing profile region - curved-flap effect - is used to improve the flying performance of hang gliders having a flexible wing, without controllability and safety being adversely affected. In this case, each side of the wing is pulled down, approximately in the wing centre, by means of a forked cable in the rear profile region and on the trailing edge of the sail. These forked cables are connected on the left and right, by means of a cable, via deflection rollers. Different loads on the two wings are in consequence transmitted to the opposite wing and cause wing warping in the opposite direction. The tension in this system is variable by means of a pulley block and roller to the connecting cable running through the wing centre and can be varied by the pilot, at will, during flight.
