The invention relates to a process with the aim of considerably facilitating the safe (emission-free) removal of low-temperature frozen hazardous waste from soil, landfill sites and similar dump sites. This aim is achieved in that the frozen hazardous waste is broken up at the site at which it is dumped by explosion to form a heap. The loose heap is subsequently removed from the dump site in the low-temperature state without emission.
