PURPOSE:To prevent diffusion of the underground water polluted with chemical materials and to effectively purify the underground water by integrating hardly water permeable or semi-water permeable laminar materials and biologically decomposing materials and arranging these materials in contact with polluted soil. CONSTITUTION:The strata include the sandy strata G and gravel strata F under the surface soil or loam strata H and include the hardly water permeable strata or water impermeable strata E. Water barrier walls 12 of the gelatinous semi- water permeable strata contg. the biologically decomposing materials for such soil strata are installed. The underground water flows in a direction J. The flow of the polluted underground water A is once blocked by the semi-water permeable strata 12 to rise the water level when the polluted underground water A migrates to the non-polluted underground water B by permeating the gelatinous semi-water permeable strata 12. The polluted underground water gradually infiltrates into the semi-water permeable strata 12, where the contaminating materials are biologically decomposed. The purified underground water is released to the non-polluted underground water B side.
