A method to make the detectability of bodies more difficult which emit their own electromagnetic and/or acoustic energy or reflect any such incident radiation. The emitted energy from (military) objects is at present reduced by shaping and absorbent materials. This constrains the design capabilities and increases the production costs. In addition, these measures are not sufficiently effective in the electromagnetic band from 12 MHz to 500 MHz. The new method, in contrast, is not intended to necessitate any design constraints, and is intended to be effective over the entire frequency band. A distribution of the emitted (reflected) energy over wide bands of the spectrum is achieved with the aid of modulators on the surface of the objects and additional controllable (auxiliary) radiation sources. In consequence, the energy of the originally radiating (echoing) frequency is greatly attenuated. By changing and selecting the frequency of the auxiliary radiation sources quickly in time, it is made extremely difficult for a receiver external to the system to receive the modulation products for location of the object.
