Finished or unfinished floors often have insufficient footstep-sound insulation. The solution, according to the invention, of the problem consists in the fact that floating screeds, in conjunction with an insulating layer, are integrated into a composite slab which has a low overall height. It is achieved in that the pliability of the insulating material is obtained by a thick slab, which takes up virtually the entire thickness of the composite slab, in combination with a topping slab upon which, for example, it is possible to walk and the weight of which is defined not only by the apparent density, but also by the fact that this slab constitutes a high proportion of the volume of the composite slab. These principles apply both to measures for improving footstep-sound insulation and airborne-sound insulation (facing shell).
