In order to achieve maximum safety in the event of a car which is open at the top rolling over, hydraulically extensible supports are arranged in such a way that, in the extended condition, they form a dimensionally stable triangular structure together with the A-column and the floor of the car. The fastening of semicircular bows on the supports is sufficient to ensure that the safety distance between the heads of the occupants and the floor is observed in the event of the car rolling over. The entire system cannot be seen during normal operation and therefore neither impairs the appearance of the vehicle nor causes irritating wind noises.
