A carrier vehicle is equipped with a high-energy laser whose transmitting antenna, which guides the laser beam onto a target, can be raised and lowered by means of a lifting device (13). The laser beam is guided, in a manner protected against dust and atmospheric influences, through the inside of the struts (15, 17) of one side of the lifting device (13) by means of fixed deflection mirrors to the directional mirror (11). Supply lines for the transmitting antenna and beam forming devices are guided upwards through the inside of the struts (16, 18) of the other side of the lifting device.
