The use of a submersible robot system working without a cable provides the means of accurately locating surface and subsurface liquid-bearing cavities and of exploring the same owing to the fact that a largely mobile research vehicle provided with the appropriate instruments works on the spot, and the data determined by it is stored and analysed by a remote computer accessible to the personnel, the mobile submersible robot at the same time being directed from this computer.
