Hyperbolic-perspective method for production of computer-aided pictorial simulations of three-dimensional reality on the screen (also for production of hard copies), or in the character area

The method supersedes the method of linear perspective which has been used for 500 years, the main defects of which are distortion at the edge and inexact localisation of the vanishing lines. Only the present state of computer technology makes it possible to use the method even in dynamic applications, since writing hyperbolae has taken too much time until now. To be practicable, the method generally assumes the use of computers. It is based on the fact that all vanishing lines, whether they are frontal or run into the picture, run on conjugate hyperbolae, and each section of vanishing line can be localised by four parameters. Application areas are: CAD (computer-aided design) (drawing and screen), visual training aids, screen demonstrations, etc.
