Process for the removal of indole, quinoline bases and higher phenol derivatives from coal tar oil by extraction with supercritical gases

A three-stage process for the extraction of methylnaphthalene oil with supercritical carbon dioxide and an entraining agent is proposed. In this way it is possible without use of chemicals to separate indole, quinoline bases and phenols effectively from the neutral oils.
