To date, doors of houses and flats were secured against attacks only by means of door chains and the like. When the door is open, these offered only little security and could be easily overcome. Equipped with this novel device, in the moment of danger, when for example the door which is secured by means of a door chain is only slightly open and the petitioner suddenly turns out to be a wrongdoer and, through force, attempts to enter, the wrongdoer can be repulsed by simply pressing the trigger button. By pressing the spray button, irritant gas is sprayed via spray nozzles in the direction of the position of the wrongdoer (door frame) with the purpose of securely reclosing the door.
