The invention relates to a device for measuring the quantity of vapour which passes per unit time through a porous material, by measuring the quantity of heat which is necessary for evaporating the corresponding quantity of the solid or liquid medium from a vessel (1), whose opening is covered with a sample material (6). For measuring the heat, a surface sensor (4) for the heat flow is used for increasing the accuracy and sensitivity on the bottom inner surface (3) of the vessel (1). The peripheral wall (2) of the vessel (1) can, in this case, be insulated thermally by means of an insulation from the heating effect of the air which flows during measuring of the sample material (6). A porous layer (12) is applied to the surface of the surface sensor (4) for a uniform distribution of the evaporated medium. The vessel (1), and possibly its separable bottom (3), forms a part of a metallic block (7), which has a heater (8) and devices (9, 10) for measuring and regulating the temperature required. At least one part of a tubular conduit (13) passes through the metallic block (7), and connects the vessel (1) with a metering device (11) of the evaporating medium. The device is suitable mainly for objectivising the clothing-physiological properties of textiles. IMAGE
