The chair comprises a frame (1) with a seat (2) and a backrest (3), on which is an occupant's head holder (4), on the body axis. The seat is liftable and lowerable to vary the distance (d, d') between the latter and the head holder for the spinal column stretching. The head holder is pref. adjustable in the longitudinal and transverse directions, and also at right angles to the backrest, as well as the relative angular position.
