New lav - ii retrovirus of the type capable of causing the aids, antigens obtained from this retrovirus and claims and their applications in the diagnosis of aids

The invention relates to a new variety of retrovirus called LAV-II, a sample of which has been deposited with CNCM under the No. I-502. It also relates to the antigens capable of being obtained from this virus, in particular the proteins DOLLAR *06BHNT]p12 and p16. These various antigens can be used in the diagnosis of the disease, especially by placing in contact with a serum from the patient on whom the diagnosis has to be carried out. Finally, it relates to immunogenic compositions containing more particularly at least one of the two proteins p12 and p16.
