P The toy gun working with compressed air for light projectiles, can have the shape of a crossbow. It has a cylinder 26 provided with an axial appendage 26A and axially perforated, to take a projectile P from the magazine and push it axially into the barrel and a movable piston in this cylinder, biased by a spring to effect the active compression stroke of air and pneumatic propulsion of the projectile. The toy further comprises: means for holding the cylinder in a fixed position; a movable assembly 40, forming a housing 44 for the magazine, which can move parallel to the geometric axis of the cylinder between an advanced position to forcibly bring a projectile P into the firing position and a retracted position in which the remaining projectiles are pressed against this appendage; and means for translating this mobile assembly between these two positions during each arming and firing cycle; for positioning a projectile in the firing position. /P
