Process for printing a textile article and a fabric printed with the aid of the process. The unbleached article forms the substrate and after having been subjected to a bleaching operation and to a sanforising treatment, according to the process, before the printing operation, the faces of the substrate are made planar, and then a single face of the latter is waterproofed by spreading a waterproofing mixture on it uniformly, then the printing of the unwaterproofed face is ensured by using a complementary means of equalising the colorant, followed by a first polymerisation with heating, then the printing of the other waterproofed face is ensured, followed by a second polymerisation with heating before an optional additional treatment of the printed fabric obtained.
