The prestressed structure, especially for the roof frame of a house, consists of tensioned cables (10) which pass from one end of the roof to the other through the rafters (3) on a level with spacing (6) between the rafters. The rafters also have plywood panels (9) fitted into grooves in their facing surfaces, and the spacing timbers can be used to support insulating material (11) which is inserted between the rafters. The tensioned cables pass through the line of the centre of gravity of the section formed by the plywood panel and spacing timber. ADVANTAGE - Greater strength and easier assembly.
