The table has an upper horizontal plate (2) supported by a pivotable frame for movement between stretcher-loading and working positions. At least one leg assembly (4,5;6,7) articulated at each end, connects the plate to a base support member (3). A stop mechanism restricts pivoting movement of the leg assemblies to define the upper working position. Clips and other members are provided to secure the plate in either of its two extreme positions, and to maintain it horizontal during movement between them.
