The height-adjustable legs are for the support of a table top or similar and each comprises two leg parts pushable telescopically one in the other, working in conjunction with a winch, two pulleys (1,2) and a pliable tractive component (5) as connecting unit with the stationary leg part (4), in order to adjust the height of the table top. The innermost leg part is fixed to the table top and two recesses (3) are provided in the innermost leg part and one in the outermost leg part. Two pulleys are fixed in the innermost leg part directed toward the recesses. The connecting unit is connected with the uppermost side of the outermost leg part, passing through the recess of that part, through the lowermost recess of the innermost leg part, over the pulleys and through the uppermost recess of the innermost leg part.
