A method for determining and storing relevant data from road networks for use in electronic navigation systems in motor vehicles, in which relevant data for representation of road networks are obtained from a heterogeneous data collection and are filed in a data store (82) Figure 18. Keypoints are formed by averaging these bearing points and one of the house numbers in the sub-rectangle is allocated to them.
