PURPOSE:To shorten the time for analysis of gamma-aminobutyric acid by using a column formed by chemically bonding a hydrocarbon as a functional group to a silica gel carrier as a stationary phase and a prescribed aq. soln. as a moving phase. CONSTITUTION:One end of the column 1 constituted by packing the stationary phase formed by chemically bonding the hydrocarbon as the functional group to the silica gel carrier is connected to a moving phase liquid cell 4 via a sample introducing port 2 and a pump 3 and the other end joins to a reaction liquid flow passage consisting of a reaction liquid cell 5 and a reaction liquid pump 6 and is connected to a fluorescence detector 9 via a reaction pipe 8. The aq. soln. prepd. by dissolving 5-20millimol/l sodium octansulfonate to 5-20millimol/l phosphoric acid buffer soln. and adjusting the hydrogen ion concn. thereof to pH4-5 is used for the moving phase.
