摘要

PURPOSE:To easily and uniformly form a coating layer of refractory metal on the surfaces of W fibers by exposing W fibers to a molten Cu alloy containing retractory metal to deposit the refractory metal on the surfaces of the W fibers and then removing the Cu alloy and the undeposited refractory metal. CONSTITUTION:W fibers are exposed to a molten Cu alloy containing refractory metal, such as Nb and Ta, to coagulate and deposit the refractory metal on the surfaces of the W fibers. After cooling, the Cu alloy and the undeposited refractory metal are removed from the W fibers by using nitric acid, etc., by which the W fibers whose surfaces are covered with the coating layer of the refractory metal, respectively, are obtained. By embedding the above W fibers into a base material composed of super alloy, a W fiber-reinforced supper alloy body can be formed.
