USE OF ETHYLENEDIAMINE TETRAACETIC ACID AS INHIBITOR OF CALCIUM/CALMODULIN DEPENDENT PROTEIN KINASE II OR PROTEIN KINASE C

PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine for treating cardiovascular disorders, central nervous system diseases, etc., containing ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid having an activity to inhibit protein kinase II dependent on calcium/calmodulin, etc., as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: This treating medicine contains ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its analogue as an active ingredient and as an inhibitor for protein kinase II or protein kinase C dependent on calcium/calmodulin. The preferable analogue of the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is especially the 1-6C aliphatic acid ester, especially preferably the ethyl ester. The ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid itself is especially preferable for the inhibition of the protein kinase II and the protein kinase C which are dependent on the calcium/calmodulin. The treating medicine is effectively used for treating inflammation processes, cancers and viral infectious diseases.
