PURPOSE: To enable simultaneous expression of a multi-protein system by incorporating extraneous DNA, for example, by introduction of DNA fragment and transforming the cells of an acceptable microorganism strain that can express the extraneous DNA. ;CONSTITUTION: Cells of an acceptable microorganism that can incorporate and express an extraneous DNA are transformed by introduction of an extraneous DNA fragment comprising at least two extraneous genes of (1) at least one of indicator genes and (2) at least one of genes to be expressed, or a DNA fragment containing them. Then, the biological activity of the desired protein is detected by means of a physicohemical, biochemical, microbiological or radioimmunological means to carry out the cloning and expression of the gene coding for the functionally interacting proteins.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
