EXTERMINATING METHOD OF SOIL NEMATODA, AND NEMATODA EXTERMINATING COMPOSITION USED THEREIN AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To control nematodes in soil without causing a trouble of environmental pollution by applying a nematocidal microorganism separated from soil enriched with chitin or collagen or a residual culture medium to soil. CONSTITUTION: This method for controlling nematodes in soil comprises introducing a nematocidal microorganism separated form soil enriched with chitin or collagen, such as a bacterium (e.g. 20M stain, 20M-2 strain, 2F strain) belonging to the genus Pseudomonas or Aeromonas, a bacterium (e.g. 30CE strain) belonging to the genus Cunninghamella, especially the species Elegans, or its mutant, or the supernatant, homogenate or extract of a growth culture medium in which the microorganism is raised and recovered, or a solid product obtained from the materials into soil. The pure culture stain of the microorganism is obtained by collecting soil in which the microorganism is proliferated, inoculating the collected soil on a selective culture medium containing chitin or collagen as a single carbon source, culturing the microorganism, and further repeating the processes. The pure culture strain is cultured in a culture medium containing chitin or collagen to obtain the microorganism in a large amount.
