FIGURED GLASS AND FORMING ROLL FOR FIGURED GLASS

PURPOSE:To improve the strength of figured glass without detracting design value by arranging to lessen the depth of recesses in continuous patterns composed of plural unit patterns having projections and recesses to be formed on the surface of a figured glass and to prevent succession of recesses to over two unit patterns. CONSTITUTION:Continuous patterns composed of a plural number of unit pattern having projections and recesses are engraved on the surface of one of a pair of forming roll to be used in the rolling out process. The level of the bottom of recesses 13 in each unit pattern is arranged to be on the same peripheral surface and projects 16 in each unit pattern are arranged not to connect linearly to over two unit patterns, further, the height of the projections 16 is regulated to 1-4% basing on the distance between the bottom level of recesses 13 and the surface level of other part of the roll surface. When a figured glass is prepd. by using a pair of this forming roll, the strength is improved without detracting the design value nor see-through preventive characteristic.
