METHOD FOR REMOVING STUCK METAL IN DEGASSING VESSEL

PURPOSE:To safely and efficiently remove solidified metal and to safely execute maintenance and repair of a degassing vessel by blowing oxygen to the solidified metal stuck to inner wall in the vessel to melt and remove this and exhausting fuming accompanied with melting. CONSTITUTION:After completing repair of the degassing treatment, the whole of molten steel is returned back into a ladle. After that, immediately electrodes are removed to insert pipes 30 in holes 20. A chuter is taken off from a hole 18 to insert the pipe 30. Gas containing the oxygen as main component is supplied into each pipe 30 and blown to the stuck metal 24 to melt the metal 24. Then, the red fume generated accompanied with oxidized exothermic reaction is forcedly exhausted with a steam ejector 31 from hole 16 for exhaust gas through duct. The melted metal iron 24 is discharged to out of the vessel through submerged tubes 12, 14 little by little.
