PURPOSE:To obtain the subject sweetener free from sharp taste, odorless, white and water-soluble powder by blending rebaudioside A extracted and purified from plant stevia, stevioside and a specific compound measured by a highperformance liquid chromatography device. CONSTITUTION:The objective sweetener containing (A) rebaudioside A and (B) stevioside which are prepared by extraction and purification from raw leaves of plant stevia having the blending ratio of the component A and component B of preferably 1, 4 to 15 and recrystallization from water and/or 1 to 3C lower alcohol and (C) a compound showing =2.5 minutes retention time when measured by a high performance liquid chromatography through a Lichrosorb(R)-NH2 column, in the volume ratio of CH3CN and H2O of 8:2 at 2ml/minute flow velocity at 200nm measurement wavelength.
