PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of safe-light fogging by growing the particles of emulsion layers contg. photosensitive silver halide particles while including shell layers subjected to a reduction treatment in the particles and redispersing silver iodide particles into the particles, thereby forming the silver iodide-contg. silver halide particles incorporated into the particles. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive material has at least one layer of the emulsion layers contg. the photosensitive silver halide particles on the supporting body. The particles are grown while including the shell layers subjected to the reduction treatment in the particles and the silver iodide particles are redispersed therein to constitute the silver halide photosensitive material as the silver iodide-contg. silver halide particles incorporated into the particles. Namely, the silver iodide which is most hardly soluble as the photosensitive silver halide particle stock is added in the form of particles or is formed as precedent precipitate, but these silver iodide particles redisperse into the grown particles and are uniformly incorporated therein without acting as the settling nuclei of the silver halide to be additionally formed. The generation of fogging under a red system and safe-light is prevented in this way.
