PURPOSE:To measure grain water content without crushing grains by providing a transmitter and a receiver for an ultrasonic wave in a gain passage and converting the input level of the receiver into a water content value. CONSTITUTION:When drying operation is started, some of grains which fall during grain elevation are collected and guided to the grain passage 1. Then the ultrasonic wave transmitter 2 sends the ultrasonic wave through grain waste in the passage 1 and the receiver 3 receives it. Then a comparator 4 compares the measured voltage outputted by the receiver 3 with a preset reference voltage and converts into a water content value, which is displayed on a display device 5' and a control signal for the supply amount of fuel, etc., of a burner can be outputted.
