METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR KILLING RED TIDE AND WATER-BLOOM OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To make the utilized energy slight and to eliminate the anxiousness of secondary contamination in comparison with a method utilizing chemicals by directly irradiating the layers of red tide and water-bloom with ultraviolet rays and killing the microorganisms in the layers. CONSTITUTION:Both a red tide layer generated in the sea or a lake and a water-bloom layer S generated in the lake, etc., are irradiated with ultraviolet rays from an irradiation box 3 for ultraviolet rays provided to a floating body 1. Furthermore the floating body 1 is gradually moved and the whole layer S of the generated red tide or water-bloom is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to kill them. As a result, this operation is easy and the utilized energy is made slight and further the anxiousness of second contamination is eliminated in comparison with a method for utilizing chemicals.
