PURPOSE:To remove dust and oil by flocculation and to reutilize treated water by preflocculating strongly alkaline waste water with a colloidal soln. of resin and then using a polymer suitable to the process. CONSTITUTION:The strongly alkaline waste water generated in the washing of mats, mops, etc., is preflocculated by using a colloidal soln. of melamine resin as the flocculant. The flocs are then blocked by using a polymer such as a cationic high molecular flocculant suitable to a combination of the detergent and resin. The contaminant such as dust and oil is flocculated in this way, and removed. Accordingly, the strong alkalinity can be maintained as such, the treated water is reutilized, and the washing cost and the amt. of water to be discharged are reduced.
