DEVICE FOR DETECTING MIS-ROLLING DURING ROLLING OF WIRE ROD

PURPOSE:To promptly perform emergency operation by automatically detecting generation of mis-rolling and its generating position based on a detection signal of a wire rod detector detecting existence of a wire rod between respective rolling mills and operational conditions of a motor driving respective mills. CONSTITUTION:At the time of normal movement of a hot steel wire 1 between rolling mills 2-5, an intermediate mill 6, and a laying head 10, wire detectors 11-18 are in on-situation and driving motors 2a-6a of respective mills are in operational situation. When mis-rolling is generated between the mill 2 and mill 3, the hot wire 1 in the downstream side from that position is torn off and passes through the mills 4-6; the detectors 11-13 are turned on and the detectors 14-18 are turned off and a mis-rolling detector 19 informs generation of mis-rolling and its generating position. As fore mis-rolling caused by stop of a driving motor of mills, generation and generating position are also informed by the detector 19 to promptly perform emergency operation.
