CONSTRUCTION OF SELF-PROPELLING FLOATING DOCK

PURPOSE:To construct a floating dock by removing the head tower and the deck at the center of a used tanker, arranging a dock bottom on the upper side of trans-web at the central part, laying a middle dock while using the side tank as the dock walls, providing a capstan and chain locker, and arranging a crane and the like on the upper deck. CONSTITUTION:A head tower part 1 is cut and removed from a used tanker, then, after outer plates are layed on both bows at the front of a dock wall 5, a central mid-bridge 2 and a central upper deck and the like are removed. Next, a dock bottom 4 is positioned so as to have a proper scant ring on the bottom while a side tank is remained. A balance line is used as it is for floating and sinking. The side tank is used as the dock wall 5, a mid-deck 12 is layed, and a capstan 13 and a chain locker 14 are arranged, then a crane 11 and a dock-in pulling equipment 10 are provided on the upper deck. It is thus possible to use the used tanker as a floating dock.
