NEW MATERIAL: A peptide including an epitope containing a carboxyl- terminated terminal amino acid sequence being the primary cleavage product of human leukocyte elastase cleaving human fibrinogen containing a specific antibody and being capable of acting as a specific probe for the detection of the antibody. ;USE: A reagent for ossay of human leukocyte elastase activity. ;PREPARATION: For example, purified human fibrinogen is mixed with human leukocyte elastase in TRIS buffer of a pH of 7, the reaction mixture is incubated at 37°C, and this is added to an ice-cooled ethanol to stop the reaction. The reaction mixture is centrifuged, the supernatant is concentrated, and the concentrate is purified by treatment with high-performance liquid chromatography and column chromatography to obtain an elastase-inducing fibrinogen cleavage site antigen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
