DETECTION OF POOR APPEARANCE OF TABLET AND APPARATUS USED THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To enable automatic and accurate detection of poor appearance of a tablet during the printing thereof by taking surfaces of the tablet with a TV camera after a printing being held and moved on a roll. CONSTITUTION:A roll 11 receives and holds a tablet T finished printing from a roll 10 with a surface Sb thereof turned outward and is rotated. A camera 21 takes an image of a surface Sa of the tablet T finished printing on the roll 10 while a camera 22 takes an image of the surface Sb thereof T on the roll 11. A processor processes image signals of TV cameras of the devices 21 and 22 to judge the presence of poor appearance of the surfaces Sa and Sb of the tablet T. Thus, the image signals of the TV cameras are made to correspond to a plurality of dots equally dividing the surfaces Sa and Sb of the tablet to be binary coded by a specified threshold and the presence of poor appearance of the tablet is judged by one value out of binary coded signals for the dots, for example, the number of bright parts thereby enabling automatic and accurate detection of poor appearance of the tablet after a printing regardless of the presence of printing.
