PURPOSE:To check a position of a solder defect based on a detection value of a reflec tion by pressing leg sections of a jig on a mother material on both sides thereof across a welded joint to check a position of the reflection source from a data obtained by an ultrasonic flaw detection test. CONSTITUTION:An end face 5 of a fixed leg section 4 and an end face 7 of a rotary leg section 6 of a jig are pressed on surfaces of a material A and a material B of a welded joint part across the welded joint part. Here, a height adjusting section 9 is mounted on the fixed leg section 4 as required to adjust the height of the fixed leg section 6. An auxiliary plate 12 for the rotary leg is mounted on the rotary leg section 6 beforehand. A point O of slide gauge 8 is made to match a reference line 12a indicating the surface of the material B of the auxiliary plate 12 for the rotary leg. A point OY of Y is taken on the slide gauge 8 horizontally and a point OT of H is taken vertically from the OY. A beam course plate 11 is placed on the gauge 8 to make an incident point OT of the plate 11 match the point OT of the gauge 8. Then, a point is taken on the gauge of the plate 1 at a distance W from the point OT and this point represents a weld defect F.
