CHINESE CHARACTER OUTLINE FONT PRODUCING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of an outline font ROM thereby to make easy designing of a font, by representing a Chinese character font by the combination of radical fonts. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a font corresponding to a code of a Chinese character is to be produced, first, the numbers of radical fonts and the arranging position of each font are read out from a Chinese character producing data ROM 2 by a font load device 3. Then, data of a coordinate constituting a radical outline font, a reference position for arranging the radical outline font and the size of the radical outline font are loaded from a radical outline font ROM 1 by the device 3, which are sent to a vector raster converting device 4 together with data of the front arranging position. The device 4 converts the data based on vector data to raster data and stores the same in an image memory 5. The raster data is outputted from the image memory 5 to a hardware 6. Accordingly, since each radical font is commonly used among many Chinese characters, the data amount of coordinates of the outline font can be reduced.
