COMPOUNDING AGENT FOR COSMETIC AND COSMETIC CONTAINING SAID COMPOUNDING AGENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a compounding agent for cosmetic having increased amino acid content by treating a hot-water extract liquid of chlorella with a proteinase, thereby not only removing the putrescible water-soluble proteins from the extract but also decomposing the proteins into amino acids beneficial to the skin. CONSTITUTION:Hot-water extract liquid of chlorella is treated with a proteinase to remove the putrescible water-soluble proteins from the liquid and decompose the proteins into amino acids which have attracted the attention as a natural humectant component existing on the surface of the skin. The compounding agent for cosmetic produced by this process contains increased amounts of amino acids supposed to be effective in moistening the skin, keeping the pH of the skin at a definite level, protecting the skin from drying and stimulation and exhibiting emulsifying action to form a sebum membrane composed of sweat and sebum. The preferable amount of the agent to be compounded to a cosmetic is 1-40wt.% for skin cosmetic and 1-20wt.% for hair cosmetic. An excellent cosmetic having high amino acid content can be easily prepared by this process.
